Book where I first heard the idea of a “pressure meter”:

Hey! I am a new student and I must say I love the way you teach. Even though I can’t see you it’s easy to visualize with the way you explain. I went browsing online and came across some finger weights. Would you recommend practicing with weights?
A very excited student,

Thanks for the nice comments keymel.
That’s an interesting question that you raise. I personally have never had experience with finger weights but I will share some thoughts on them - hopefully that will help.
I can say that when I play on a guitar that’s difficult to play and then switch to an instrument that plays well, it feels like I can play much better. I imagine that the same thing would happen when you switch from using weights to not using them.
But, if you are just starting with the guitar I don’t really see a need for finger weights. If I were you, I would just focus on getting the feel for the guitar without weights and save yourself some money.
Hope this helps!
Brian

Great learning aid. Have several books and even had an instructor for a while but so far this is the best instruction I have found.
Thanks!
